Kelsey Miller
Coach Kelsey Miller, better known as Coach Choke, is a veteran wrestling coach with over 15 years of experience and a background deeply rooted in military service. His no-nonsense approach to coaching is matched by his technical mastery across multiple combat sports. He holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (awarded by Carlos Catania, 5th Degree Professor), is certified in catch wrestling through both Scientific Wrestling and the Snake Pit Catch Wrestling Association, and has trained in multiple combative disciplines. His expertise spans youth leagues, high school wrestling, and amateur MMA/BJJ, where he has guided athletes in performance sciences, self-defense, and competitive excellence.
Beyond his technical skill, Coach Choke is a dedicated mentor, father, and community advocate. Having coached three of his four children, he values instilling discipline, resilience, and character just as much as athletic ability. His belief in apprenticeship and service reflects his military roots, where he served in the United States Air Force from 1996–2000 and trained in Self Aid Buddy Care (SABC). For him, coaching is not just about winning on the mat but about building leaders who carry lessons of integrity and hard work into every area of life.
In addition to his extensive coaching and martial arts experience, Coach Choke brings over 25 years of professional expertise as a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, holding multiple certifications in the field. He earned his B.S. in Information Technology – Network Systems Management from Capella University and an A.A.S. in Electronic & Encryption Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. Whether as a coach, mentor, or professional, Coach Choke embodies discipline, dedication, and authenticity—an “all-around solid dude” about 87.5–90% of the time.
